Week 7!

I had a friend answer these questions with each post of her pregnancy and I thought it was super fun and a great way to keep all of those who want to know what is going on, in the loop. So I am going to steal the idea!

How far along: 7 weeks
Due date: January 7th, 2015
Total weight gain: I've lost two pounds. Whoop, whoop! I'm not going to complain!
Maternity clothes: Nope not yet.
Sleep: Pretty normal so far. In fact I think I may be sleeping better than I was before baby.
Best moment of this week: Going to our first doctor appointment and seeing our little baby and it's heartbeat!
Miss anything: I miss feeling good. I am nauseas all day, pretty much every day. I never realized what a blessing it was to feel healthy until I was nauseas 24-7.
Movement: Nope.
Food cravings: Too early to tell.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes, yes and yes. I pretty much live off of bland food, carbs and ginger ale right now. Oddly I've done well eating PB&J sandwiches so that has become a staple.
Have you started to show yet: I feel bigger, but no I don't think so.
Gender: Sam and I are split … one of us thinks we are having a little girl and the other a little boy.
Pregnancy signs: I'm pretty "textbook" when it comes to symptoms. Which has kind of surprised me actually. I honestly didn't think it would make me feel this different. And I was definitely not aware of all the bizarre little symptoms that can come with a baby! But we count some of our symptoms as a blessing since they serve as a reminder for us that our little baby is there and doing well!
Belly button in or out: Inny.
Wedding ring on or off: On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Nauseas and Tired. (Does that count as an answer?)

And here is a picture from our first appointment.

Weeks 4 and 5

Things are going pretty well. When we found out we were pregnant we decided to wait and tell our families till we were farther along. Waiting turned out to be much harder than I ever thought it would be. Luckily one day on my way home from work my sister, Alex, called to tell me that she was pregnant and had already told the entire family, so we changed our plan and told my family the same day.

We got on a Skype call for what my family thought would be Alex telling me she was pregnant. Little did my family know that we had planned the whole thing and they were in store for something much, much different. So once we were on with everyone Alex announces to me that she is pregnant and show me her pregnancy test. Everyone cheered and clapped and then I held up my own pregnancy test let them know that we were too!

It was fun to see everyone's reactions, they ranged from tears to shock, to speechless. We let them know that we were due only 4 days apart, me on the 6th and Alex on the 10th. We harassed my Dad that his many prayers for a grand-baby had been answered double-fold. Two babies in one week! Later that week we let Sam's parents and siblings know we were pregnant and they were just as excited for us.

Here is a comparative of our little baby's growth so far from when we found out!
